Improve acoustics and indoor air quality with Ecophon

The trend is clear - there is a higher focus on indoor environment, with growing demands for green building certification labels and products with fewer emissions.

Many factors can influence the quality of our indoor environment, such as:

  • Indoor air quality
  • Acoustics
  • Thermal comfort
  • Lighting quality

Ecophon lives and breathes acoustic solutions, but did you know that our products also are good for a healthy indoor air quality?

Ecophon - a good choice for a healthy indoor environment

Ecophon products have always had low emission levels, far below the legal limits. And with our 3rd generation glass wool, which doesn't contain any added formaldehyde*, we have achieved even lower emission levels. Using materials with low emissions is an important way of improving the indoor air quality.

Supporting sustainable buildings

Ecophon's low-emitting products are well suited for green building certification schemes such as LEED, BREEAM, DGNB, HQE. We can provide your green building project with products that fulfill the California emission regulation (CDPH) and the French VOC regulation A+, A.

Make a better choice

Ecophon products comply with a number of well-known labels and regulations. The idea of a label is to make it easier for the customer to choose a better product. The labels differ in what chemicals they put restrictions on, limits for individual compounds and tests methods.

French VOC A + is currently the highest level of certification for formaldehyde emissions with a limit of 10 μg/m3.

Better air, better future

Better air, better workday

Better air, better care

Children breath three times more air than adults and are more sensitive to pollutants. Therefore it's important to use materials that contribute to a good air quality as wells as good acoustics in schools.

Poor air quality in the office can lower the working capacity and cause headaches. Ecophon's acoustic solutions for offices help improve both the air quality as well as the acoustics.

Both staff and patients spend most of their time indoors. In many cases, the patients are already in a vulnerable state,  which makes the indoor air quality an important factor for good care and recovery.

*Formaldehyde (CH20) is one of the most thoroughly evaluated substances. In 2014 Formaldehyde was reclassified as a Carcinogen Category 1B, that, according to the CLP Regulation, are presumed to have carcinogenic potential for humans. The new classification entered into force in June 2014 when published in the Official Journal of the European Union. However, authorities have foreseen a transition period until 1 January 2016, allowing suppliers to adapt to the new classification.
