Joakim Freij_210913.jpgReal-life experiences have led me to what interests me today. From an early age I always wanted to be doing something; the way I lived and worked have revolved around activities of various kinds.

Helping out and making sure that various organisations, associations and other businesses develop in the right direction has given me a better appreciation of my job as a Concept developer at Ecophon than I probably would have had if I had not joined the building industry in 2013 or become involved in property and buildings. I have worked with contractors, architects, property companies and specifications for many years.

It’s only when you understand how every sound we hear affects us that you start to change your situation!

It never crossed my mind when I was standing at the front at AC/DC concerts in the eighties and nineties that it would have any practical influence or meaning for my future work, but I understand things much better than I did then.

It’s a privilege to be able to inform people, teach them and see the reactions of users after diving into the fascinating world of acoustics. The environment and acoustics are two high-priority topics in the building industry. For me, they go hand in hand, as the indoor environment and elements such as sound, light and air are things you should consider at a very early stage in order to create buildings that people really want to live and work in.

Most of us don’t think about the everyday sounds we live with, but we definitely need to think about sound and how it affects our daily lives.

Working for eight hours in a poor acoustic environment or in a good acoustic environment could be the difference between having the energy to enjoy your free time, or not.
