Shopping at low noise levels

If you leave the Magdeburg train station via the north-west exit, you will inevitably see the imposing glass front of the City Carré. The five-storey building complex with a total area of more than 100,000 m2 is a real eye-catcher in the heart of the Saxony-Anhalt state capital, just a few minutes' walk from the historic cathedral.

While numerous companies have rented offices on the upper floors, a bright, winding passageway on the ground floor leads to many smaller and larger shops. It is the core of a fundamental revitalisation that is intended to make the shopping and specialist retail centre more attractive again for consumers and tenants after it had gotten a bit old.
