General advice and recommenations for the Ecophon Acoustic Calculator.

If the calculated reverberation time T20 is too long:

  • Use ceiling absorber with higher sound absorption coefficient
  • Add wall absorbers

If calculated Speech Clarity C50 is too low:

  • Use ceiling absorber with higher sound absorption coefficient
  • Add wall absorbers positioned to remove late sound reflections

If calculated Sound Strength G is too high:

  • Use ceiling absorber with higher sound absorption coefficient and/or increase the total amount of absorption

If calculated Reverberation Time T20 at low frequencies is considered too long:

  • Use thicker ceiling absorber and/or use extra low-frequency absorbers above the suspended ceiling or increase mounting height.
