Today we spend more than 90% of our time indoors, therefore the quality of the indoor air is something that impacts us greatly, both from a health point of view but also performance wise.

The quality of the indoor air depends on many factors, like for example ventilation design and pollution of the indoor air.

Indoor air pollution can be caused by particles naturally released from the materials used for the interior. Those are called Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs).

Building materials can be a significant source of VOCs, therefore is it of high importance to make sure to select products with low emissions. It is also important to make sure that the selected materials material do not contains any pollutants that are negatively impacting health and performance.

The VOC content of Ecophon products is tested by external laboratories in accordance with European regulations. The results from these tests are shown through our emission labels.
