Custom acoustic islands enhance the store identity

As part of the redesign of the Atol store in Boulazac, Ecophon Solo™ Freedom acoustic islands were installed to improve both acoustic comfort and the visual experience within the 250 m² sales area.

The store's high ceilings created acoustic challenges while making it important to preserve the sense of openness within the space. To address both requirements, custom-made acoustic islands shaped like eyeglasses were developed. The suspended panels provide effective sound absorption while integrating naturally into the interior architecture.

Colour also played an important role in the design concept. The orange islands create a dynamic contrast to the blue tones already present in the store and reinforce the brand's visual identity.

The custom solution was developed in collaboration with the Ecophon technical design office, which assessed the project's technical requirements and feasibility. The result is an acoustic solution tailored to the space while remaining faithful to the original architectural vision.

Feedback from the Atol teams has been very positive. The acoustic islands quickly became a distinctive feature of the store, drawing attention while contributing to a more comfortable environment for both customers and employees.

This project demonstrates how Ecophon Solo™ Freedom can combine acoustic performance, design flexibility and customisation to create spaces that are both functional and visually distinctive.
