Gantofta school was facing an increase in pupil numbers at short notice and needed to create a new learning environment for the pupils. At the same time a new sports hall was being built and the old one was to be decommissioned.

The solution was to use the old premises from the sports hall and create an open learning environment. One challenge was the ceiling height, but by suspending the ceiling with a framework and a 40 mm absorber, it was possible to create an acoustic environment that was sustainable. The absorbers were left in place as they can help reduce low-frequency noise.

All furnishings are reused via the City of Helsingborg and the old changing rooms have now been turned into a music room.
