Balancing hygiene, acoustics and design in healthcare spaces

Henri Mondor Hospital in Créteil required ceiling solutions that could support different functional and architectural needs across the facility. While areas adjacent to operating theatres demanded high standards of hygiene, maintenance and acoustic performance, the day hospital aimed to create a more welcoming environment for patients and staff.

More than 1,000 m² of Ecophon Hygiene Performance™ ceilings were installed in preparation areas near the operating theatres. The system was selected for its compatibility with demanding healthcare cleaning protocols, ease of maintenance and sound-absorbing properties.

In the day hospital, more than 400 m² of Ecophon Clipso™ So Acoustic stretch ceilings with glass wool insulation were installed. Featuring curved shapes and a carefully selected colour palette, the ceiling contributes to both acoustic comfort and the visual identity of the space.

By combining acoustic performance with solutions adapted to the specific requirements of each area, the project helps create functional and comfortable healthcare environments. In the preparation areas, the focus is on hygiene, accessibility and staff comfort. In the day hospital, acoustics, colour and design work together to create a calmer and more welcoming atmosphere for patients and healthcare professionals.
