Reconstruction of the Letohrad Cultural Centre: Enhancing cultural experiences
The Letohrad Cultural Centre, originally built in 1969, underwent extensive reconstruction and reopened to the public in 2023. Today, the building offers a theatre hall, a versatile dance hall, a rehearsal room for bands, and a chamber hall for the Alfons Mucha Art School. The premises are fully accessible and suitable for theatre performances, concerts, film screenings, balls, discussions, and conferences.
Ecophon acoustic solutions played a key role in achieving balanced sound across the various hall types. The use of Ecophon Solo™ Circle, Ecophon Focus™ Lp, Ecophon Focus™ Ds, and Ecophon Akusto™ Wall/Super G systems made it possible to align acoustic performance with the requirements for aesthetics and spatial flexibility.
The freely suspended Solo Circle panels provided flexibility where structural conditions did not allow for a traditional ceiling installation while still meeting acoustic demands. Focus Lp helped precisely direct the acoustics thanks to its accentuated lines and concealed grid. The result is a set of pleasant-sounding halls with excellent speech intelligibility, suitable for a wide range of cultural and social events.
Today, the Letohrad Cultural Centre is an example of how modern acoustic solutions can enhance both the atmosphere and functionality of historical buildings after reconstruction.
