Tailored acoustics for O'Gabier restaurant
In a restaurant, a vibrant atmosphere is part of the experience. However, when noise levels become too high, conversations become more difficult and both guests and staff can feel fatigued. At O'Gabier in Rochefort-sur-Mer, improving acoustic comfort had become a priority after feedback highlighted excessive noise in parts of the venue.
The project included two distinct areas: the main restaurant dining space, which accommodates up to 100 guests, and a seminar room used for group meals, private events and business gatherings. Because the two spaces serve different purposes, the acoustic treatment was tailored to each environment.
A combination of Ecophon Solo™ Circle and Ecophon Solo™ Rectangle panels was installed to improve sound absorption while preserving the character of the interior. The suspended panels provide effective acoustic control without covering the entire ceiling or requiring extensive refurbishment.
The restaurant owner reports that the installation has been well received, both acoustically and visually:
"We've received quite positive feedback, particularly regarding the aesthetic aspect. It brings a touch of modernity."
In the dining area, the treatment helps reduce echo while maintaining the lively atmosphere expected in a restaurant. The seminar room, where speech clarity is especially important, benefits from a higher proportion of acoustic treatment, creating a more comfortable environment for meetings and social events.
The improvements have already made a noticeable difference in daily operation.
"We can definitely feel that it has reduced the echo in the room," says the restaurant owner.
By adapting the acoustic solution to the specific needs of each space, O'Gabier has created a more comfortable experience for guests, staff and event participants alike, while retaining the welcoming atmosphere that defines the restaurant.
