Enhancing acoustic comfort at Restaurant Point de Chute
Located in Paris’s 15th arrondissement, Restaurant Point de Chute set out to improve the acoustic environment for both guests and staff. High noise levels had resulted in customer complaints and disruption to neighbouring residents, prompting the owners to seek an effective solution.
With an 80 m² dining area including a veranda, the restaurant previously suffered from excessive reverberation – over 2 seconds in some zones. This made conversation difficult and affected staff efficiency during service.
Acoustic solutions
Ecophon worked together with installation company COTRIS to design a solution that met both acoustic and aesthetic requirements. To reduce reverberation and create a more comfortable atmosphere, throughout the dining space, COTRIS installed a combination of Ecophon Akusto™ Wall C panels along the walls and suspended Ecophon Solo™ Square and Ecophon Solo™ Rectangle units across the ceiling.
To further improve sound insulation towards neighbouring areas, the installation team added an acoustic lining made from glass wool combined with sound‑insulating plasterboard. This additional layer helps minimise noise transfer beyond the restaurant’s boundaries.
The new acoustic treatment has resulted in a calmer, more enjoyable dining experience, with improved speech clarity and better working conditions for staff, while significantly reducing noise impact on the surrounding building. Restaurant Point de Chute now offers a more pleasant environment that encourages guests to stay longer and return more often.
