The recently built school centre Grundäckergasse in Vienna, Austria, currently runs 13 classes from pre-school to middle school. The objective was to create a modern and functional school building that meets the needs of the children and offers them and their teachers optimal teaching conditions.

The 25 classrooms are divided into a total of six educational clusters, with four educational rooms in one cluster grouped around a well-proportioned, divided multifunctional area. In addition to an individual retreat zone for pupils, these areas also serve as a place for movement and communication, e.g. for group work. Therefore, there were high demands on the equipment of the area in order to meet the needs of all users. Consequently, room acoustics played a major role in the multifunctional areas. The architects were looking for a functional and visually appealing solution that matched the concept – the choice was made to use Ecophon Solo™ Baffle.

"The collaboration with Ecophon and the consultation on the products was excellent, pleasant and even after completion we feel well looked after with regard to new projects," says Nicole Wohlmuth from Schluder Architekten.
