Ecophon acoustic ceiling baffles are engineered for spaces where a full suspended ceiling is not practical or architecturally desirable. Because baffles hang vertically and absorb sound on both faces, they deliver higher effective absorption per square metre than flat, surface-mounted ceiling tiles, making them well suited to offices, retail spaces, restaurants, and auditoriums with exposed soffits or high ceilings.
Ecophon's baffle range achieves NRC ratings between 0.80 and 1.00 depending on thickness and spacing, and is Class A fire rated for use in commercial and public buildings. Baffles can be arranged in linear rows, wave patterns, or clustered configurations, giving architects a way to combine acoustic performance with visual design. Colour and finish options allow baffles to either blend into the ceiling plane or stand out as a deliberate architectural feature.
Installation uses a lightweight suspension system that requires minimal structural fixing, making baffles a practical retrofit option for existing buildings as well as new construction. Panels can be demounted and repositioned individually, which also simplifies maintenance access to the ceiling void above.
