Acoustic refurbishment on a grand scale

The refurbishment of Southampton Ferry Cruise Terminal demonstrates how Ecophon Advantage™ E can provide an effective acoustic solution in large and complex environments.

The scale of the terminal and the existing building structure presented several installation challenges. In some areas, the ceiling needed to be fixed directly to the existing soffit, while other sections required installation heights of more than 10 metres and the use of angled ceiling hangers.

Working closely with the project team, Ecophon provided onsite technical support throughout the installation process, helping to ensure that the acoustic ceiling system could be adapted to the conditions of the building.

The finished ceiling creates a clean and uniform appearance across the terminal while contributing to improved acoustic comfort. Using 1,200 × 600 mm Ecophon Advantage™ E tiles, the solution complements the expansive interior and provides a practical, commercially viable option for large-scale refurbishment projects.
